About

I am a clinical psychologist, researcher, and author living in Melbourne, Australia.

This website brings together some of the different strands of my work and interests: children’s stories, poetry, writing, and other creative projects.

I have never found it helpful to think of the different parts of my identity as separate compartments. They coexist in me, and they influence one another in ways that are often difficult to untangle. Writing informs my clinical work. Psychology shapes the way I think about stories. Research influences how I understand myself, other people and the world around me.

This website is simply a place where some of those parts can coexist openly, just as they do naturally in life.

As a psychologist, I work from a relational, formulation-driven, integrative approach with a psychodynamic foundation, a strong emphasis on interpersonal regulation, and selective use of behavioural and cognitive techniques.

Outside of my professional roles, I remain deeply curious about people, ideas, creativity, and the world around me. Photography has been a long-standing hobby, allowing me to capture moments, places and details that catch my attention. Music is another important part of my life, ranging from electronic music during long drives to the experience of hearing a symphony performed live. I am often interested in how things work, why they are the way they are, and whether they could be improved. Many of my projects, whether in research, writing, psychology, or everyday life, begin with a simple thought: “There must be a better way to do this.”

Some of the books featured on this website support charitable organisations through donated proceeds.

Over the years, I have also accumulated a large collection of photographs. I hope to gradually make some of these available through this website for non-commercial educational, creative, and personal use, with appropriate attribution.
