The Girl with the Overlong Hair

The Girl with the Overlong Hair is a strange, sometimes melancholy fairy tale about difference, grief, extraordinary gifts, and the complicated relationship between individuality and the expectations of others.

Beneath its fantastical imagery, the story explores what happens when something extraordinary about a person becomes inseparable from how the world sees and treats them. It raises questions about identity, boundaries, belonging, and the uneasy relationship between what makes us different and what others expect us to be.

Originally written in Hungarian, the story is now being developed as a standalone illustrated English-language e-book. The artistic direction is still open, with the illustrator-selection process currently underway.

The intention is to create a book in which the illustrations do more than accompany the words: they will help establish the peculiar, beautiful, and occasionally unsettling world in which this fairy tale unfolds.
